Description | This course examines the establishment, role and function of police in a democratic society. It will focus on types of police agencies and their organizational structure, police-community interaction, police ethics, and use of authority. | ||||||||

Lecture Topics Outline | This is an online class and we will follow the table of contents in the textbook, covering about one chapter per week. The video lectures covering each chapter are posted in the content folder for the class on Blackboard. You should read the chapter, review the powerpoint slides, and watch the video lecture for at least one chapter per week, two at the most. Try not to get too far ahead or get behind. Make a schedule and stick to it. You should be logging into the class at least once per week, and I can see online when you last accessed the class. | ||||||||
